The roof of a building set to become a Rio Grande restaurant partially collapsed Tuesday morning in downtown Loveland.
Loveland Fire Department crews responded after reports of the collapse in the 200 block of North Cleveland Avenue. The department said no injuries were reported and the building was deemed unsafe to enter.
The structure is being prepared for a Rio Grande restaurant, part of a Colorado-based chain known for its Southwestern fare. The company has not commented on whether the collapse will affect its planned opening date.
City officials said the cause of the collapse is under investigation. The building owner has been notified, and officials expect further inspections before work resumes at the site.
Several new restaurants and businesses have opened in downtown Loveland in recent months. The Rio Grande site is one of several redevelopment projects in the area.
